What Is A Breast
Ultrasound?
Preparation:
We will ask you to wear comfortable clothing with no zippers, buttons or buckles for your test. Once your exam is complete, the images will be review by a board certified radiologist and a report will be sent to your physician.
Ultrasound is used to further examine possible breast problems detected by screening or diagnostic mammogram or by physical exam. This exam can help determine, for example, if a suspicious area is a solid mass, breast abcess or a common, benign cyst. A fluid-filled cyst may not require a biopsy at all.
